What we are all about

Right On Huntsville was formed with one purpose in mind: to reinvigorate Republican politics in Alabama’s Rocket City.  What began as an idea of a few politically interested friends has quickly transformed into Huntsville’s preeminent organization for conservative Republicans of all ages.  To become part of our movement, all that is required is a strong desire to see good, Republican candidates run for public office and the willingness to take action to support the election of these candidates.

Right On has three primary goals to achieve its objectives: (1) candidate development and recruitment; (2) party-building and grassroots organization; and (3) fundraising.  We can no longer sit back and expect qualified, conservatives to run for office.  Many good candidates never run for public office because, frankly, they do not know where to start or how the process works. Our first objective is aimed at identifying individuals who share Right On’s ideals and giving them our full support to help build their platform and campaign message.  Our second objective is an acknowledgment that Huntsville’s politically conservative voice has been silent for far too long.  Our grand old party has in many ways been to blame for this by failing to focus on what has made the conservative movement so special in the past: the everyday people who make up the party.  Whether you wear a coat and tie or jeans and a tee shirt; whether you are in college or recently retired; or whether you are a CEO, farmer, or engineer, Right On wants people from all demographics and backgrounds to join its conservative movement.  No part of a campaign is too big or too small for us, and our members seek to motivate its grassroots base to routinely knock on doors, make phone calls, and help put together events for candidates to reach out to voters in their district.

Finally, no organization can make a real impact politically or otherwise without financial support. Taking action to support candidates requires more than words.  We encourage our members to contribute financially to help fund candidates’ campaigns, and we have formed a political action committee to further this objective.

The rebirth of conservative politics in Huntsville has arrived.  Republican candidates who may not have run for office in the past can now rest assured that they have a friend and supporter in Right On.  Join the movement today at: www.rightonhuntsville.org.

Campaign season is gearing up and Right On Huntsville is out there in front working to get good Republicans elected to serve. Right On is proud of our endorsement of Mary Scott Hunter for State Board of Education and looks forward to helping her win that race.

As Robert posted below, we have been hard at work with our friends the Madison County Young Republicans planning the Huntsville Governors Forum on March 2, 2010 at the Davidson Center in Huntsville.

We are also in the development stages for a new and much more improved website so keep checking back often.
